Monro Muffler is a publicly traded automotive service company with over 1000 locations located along the East coast of the U.S.. They employ 6,157 people and earned $894 million in revenue in 2015.
I’ve been doing design work for Monro Muffler since 2006. I’ve designed several iterations of their website, a stand-alone mobile application, direct mail campaigns, newspaper advertising, print flyers and other collateral, PPC landing pages, and have provided search engine optimization consultation for their 1000+ store locations.
Mobile Application UI/UX & Prototyping
These prototypes were developed for Monro in June of 2013 and the mobile application was launched and made available to the public in just 5 months. I was responsible for the functional requirements, user interface and interaction designs, and providing final, layered Photoshop prototypes, asset libraries, and style sheets to the development team coding the app remotely in New York.
- I mapped out general functionality and interactions and technically validated them with the development team. Project planning and scheduling was coordinated across multiple teams spanning 3 states using SmartSheet.
- The rough UI interfaces were sketched out by hand using old fashioned pencil and paper.
- Wireframing was initially going to being completed using ProtoShare but we bypassed that step due to the small scale. For this project, we went directly to tight prototypes for each of the 12 screens.
- I worked closely with the development company and their engineers over the course of the project, providing them with feedback, as well as additional screen mockups and CSS code when necessary.
